This elegant Russian lacquer box features a vibrant and whimsical hand-painted scene of two women in ornate masquerade costumes. Dressed in richly detailed gowns with feathered masks and elaborate hairstyles, the figures exude a festive and mysterious charm. One holds a fan while the other clutches a delicate string of beads, their expressions playful and serene. The background is softly blended with pastel hues, adding a dreamlike atmosphere to the scene. Framed with a fine gold border and finished in a glossy black, this box beautifully captures the spirit of carnival and the artistry of traditional Russian miniature painting.  The box was signed by notable Fedoskino artist T. Danchenko and was painted somewhere around 2006. No significant cracks of flaws in the box.
